The Gratitude Steel Band will be the featured performers Live on Stage at the Port Austin Farmers Market on Saturday, August 28, 2021.  The Florida-based husband and wife team of Chaz and Loretta Russell delivers an eclectic mix of Reggae, Latin, and Pop tunes, performed on authentic steel pans. A special interest is their Soca music, a genre of music defined by Lord Shorty, its inventor, as the Soul of Calypso, African and East Indian rhythms. It is a genre of music that originated in Trinidad and Tobago in the early 1970s and developed into a range of styles during the 1980s and after.

The entertainment runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the outdoor stage adjacent to the historic gymnasium at the Farmers Market. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy the free concert.
