PACP TO HOST NEIL DIAMOND TRIBUTE SHOW ON JUNE 25TH
As a fitting climax to what promises to be a great Porch Fest VIII weekend, one of the event’s entertainers, Denny Svehla, also known nationally as Denny Diamond, will present “A Neil Diamond Story” at the Port Austin Community Playhouse on Sunday afternoon, June 25, at 2:00 PM.
Since his appearance on Dick Clark’s Your Big Break TV show in 2000, Denny has become one of the most sought-after Neil Diamond tribute artists. He has performed frequently in Branson, MO, and in Nashville, as well as touring throughout the United States.
The upcoming Port Austin tribute is described as a fun and interactive show going through Neil’s life through story-telling and performing his music. Sam Malone, Entertainment Editor of Northern Star, describes the show as “full of comedic banter and honest moments. For 90 minutes, Denny told stories and performed what he called ‘feel good’ music, celebrating the man who brought the world hits such as ‘Sweet Caroline’ and ‘Coming to America.’”
Denny will be performing a variety of music at Saturday’s Porch Fest from 1-3 at 119 Union St., and that evening he will be at Bird Creek Farms from 6-8. Tickets for his Sunday performance will be $10.00. Seating is unreserved, so audience members may select the best seat available upon arrival.
Tickets can be purchased by calling the theater box office at (989) 738-5217, by calling Dennis at (586) 381-2020, or by coming to the theater after twelve noon on Sunday, if there are any tickets left. This is a can’t-miss show for our Upper Thumb community!
