Huco Songs, the Port Austin Artist in Residence Songwriter Retreat Weekend was founded in 2021 with the goal of providing both educational and entertainment options for residents and guests of Huron County. Participants are treated to 5 songwriting workshops, cowriting time, free writing time, songwriting assignments, peer feedback, evening meals, song circles, fire pit jams, and a Sound Bath from Centered by Sound. Host Nicholas James Thomasma along with Nashville, TN-based Rachael Davis are the featured instructors for 2024.
Returning this year is the Songwriter Showcase at the Port Austin Community Playhouse on Saturday, September 28th at 7 PM.
